Complaints Procedure

We are committed to providing a high standard of service to every client. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service or a bill, please raise your concerns in the first instance with Jonathan Vance, who can be contacted by telephone on +44 (0)20 7946 0301, by email at enquiries@vancelegalchambers.com, or by post at 30 St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8EP, United Kingdom.

We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it thoroughly and provide a full written response once our investigation is complete. We aim to resolve all complaints within eight weeks of receipt, which is the statutory period after which you may refer the matter to the Legal Ombudsman if it remains unresolved.

The Legal Ombudsman

If you are not satisfied with our handling of your complaint, or if eight weeks have passed since you first raised it with us, you may refer your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, an independent body established to resolve complaints about legal services. You can contact the Legal Ombudsman:

Complaints to the Legal Ombudsman must normally be made within six months of receiving our final written response, and no more than one year from the date of the act or omission complained of — or one year from the date on which you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.

Reporting to the SRA

If your concern relates to our professional conduct rather than the service you have received, you may also raise it with the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Information on how to do so is available at www.sra.org.uk/consumers/problems/report-solicitor.
